Inset Basin

An inset basin drops into the vanity top and leaves the rim exposed. It gives the bathroom a tidy finish while keeping splash zones contained. If you prefer easy cleaning without losing bench space, this setup works well.

At Bathroom Space we stock inset basins in Australia in round, square, and soft rectangular shapes. Every item is tested to suit Australian plumbing and local install habits. All come complete with specs so you know what fits and what doesn’t. Browse now.

Why Choose an Inset Vanity Basin

Unlike vessel sinks, an inset basin vanity gives a lower profile. That means fewer splash marks and less strain when reaching over. You get the same bowl depth but with better balance on the bench. These suit:

  • Laminated tops that need sealed edges
  • Stone or timber tops with pre-cut openings

An inset bathroom basin also works well with mirrored cabinets. The reduced height helps avoid crowding the face space. Browse our collection now.

Semi Inset Basin for Tight Benchtops

Some vanities don’t have much depth. If the top isn’t deep enough to hold a full bowl, a semi inset vanity basin solves the problem. It sits partly above the bench and keeps most of the bowl exposed.

We stock:

  • Semi inset basins for shallow cabinets
  • Inset bathroom sinks that suit 300mm top depths

A semi insert basin is common in rental fit-outs and apartment bathrooms. It gives a bigger bowl without pushing the whole vanity out. Browse now.

Buy Inset Basin Online

At Bathroom Space, we list all cutout sizes and rim depths for our inset bathroom sink collection. That means no guesswork and no wrong orders.

Most inset basins in Australia are built to fit pre-drilled vanities. Our range includes options for:

  • Standard mixers or three-piece tapware
  • Inset sink bathroom styles with overflow outlets

You’ll also find round inset basin designs that suit heritage and classic homes. These often work best with tiled tops or curved vanity fronts. Explore our inset bathroom sink range today.

How to Choose Inset Basins

An inset basin bathroom vanity works with both flatpack and custom cabinetry. Make sure the benchtop supports the basin weight. Most inset bathroom basins are ceramic, but we also stock resin and fine-fireclay options.

If you're fitting into a tight cabinet, measure before you order. A semi inset basin can help avoid clashes with drawers or traps. Always check the internal clearance under the top,  not just the surface space.
